Kanzius looking strong

I had a chance to catch up with Millcreek inventor John Kanzius this morning and he's looking fit and strong even as he undergoes his latest round of cancer treatments.

You might remember that Kanzius -- the former local radio and television station owner -- began his latest round of treatments for a rare form of lymphoma a few weeks ago.

Kanzius says the treatments are going well and that he is continuing to work with researchers in Houston and Pittsburgh to test his theory that directed radio waves might be able to effectively eliminate many forms of cancer.

Kanzius' search for a cure has grabbed national headlines in recent months. In fact, the Today Show is putting together a feature on him that will likely run later this month.

He's also been getting quite a bit of support locally. Industrial Sales and Manufacturing has given him space in an unused office building to conduct research. And there's a fundraiser set for Tuesday at Erie Insurance Group's downtown headquarters that is expected to raise more than $150,000 to help fund his research.
