Public turning on convention center

It looks like the convention center project isn't capturing the fancy of the community as much as our local leaders would like.

We're running a poll today on the GoErie.com homepage that asks whether the convention center's garage should be the county's top capital budget priority.

So far, more than 90 percent of the respondents say no.

You can monitor the totals throughout the day here.

The fact that the under-construction convention center is already running $6.5 million over budget has prompted some of the discontent, no doubt.

There are also fears throughout many factions in the community that the convention center won't live up to its promise.
