Free lead for Erie economic development pros

I received an e-mail from loyal Inside Erie reader Pat McIndoe who believes that Erie would be a great location of an ethanol plant. But rather than just throwing out an idea, he offers a contact.

"The price for land and availability of feedstock for ethanol production, and the high level of well educated work force, makes for great business sense," McIndoe writes.

"Please see if you can get the local politicians to get in touch with the Iogen corporation and get Erie on the list of cities to get a production plant," he continues. "I think that you do a great job of trying to promote Erie in your newspaper articles. This can be just one such item. It would be nice to see Erie grow and offer more opportunities for my nieces and nephews."

I don't know if it will lead to anything. But at least we're trying to help the cause. And we won't even charge a consulting fee if it leads to new jobs.

If any other readers out there have good leads on companies that might consider setting up shop in Erie, please feel free to pass them on.
