McCain, Lieberman and Ridge

Tom Ridge got a lot of face time on ABC’s Nightline show Monday, which followed Republican presidential hopeful John McCain on the campaign trail in New Hampshire.

Ridge, the former governor and U.S. homeland security secretary from Millcreek, is supporting McCain in his run for the White House. McCain’s prospects looked bleak until recently, when his poll numbers shot up in New Hampshire.

New Hampshire’s primary, the first in the nation, is Jan. 8.

And now McCain has the support of independent Sen. Joe Lieberman, of Connecticut, the former Democrat who was Al Gore’s running mate in 2000.

Should McCain’s momentum continue and he wins the Republican nomination, you can bet there would be plenty of speculation about Ridge as a potential running mate.
