Calm before the political storm

No word yet on any visits to Erie from the presidential candidates or their surrogates.

President Bill Clinton is campaigning this afternoon at the Penn State University Brandywine campus in Delaware County. Then he heads to Tupelo, Miss., to host a fish fry. What? No McDonald’s?

Clinton will spend the rest of Saturday in Mississippi with campaign events in four other towns, including Biloxi.

The Wyoming Democratic caucus is Saturday, followed by Tuesday's Mississippi primaries.

After that, it will be all Pennsylvania-all the time for Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton. Well, at least until the April 22 primary.

And a spokeswoman for John McCain told me today that the GOP nominee-in-waiting will campaign in Pennsylvania, too, before the primary. He’s looking ahead to the Nov. 4 election, when he will need Pennsylvania.
