Doors are open

At about 11:10 a.m., the people lined up outside -- and around -- the school started to be let in.

The music started at about the same time. So far, we've heard campaign classics:

- "The Rising" by Bruce Springsteen

- "September" by Earth, Wind and Fire

- "American Girl" by Tom Petty

The bleachers are almost filled up, and it's been 12 minutes. There is still room on the floor. East High JROTC cadets are ushering people in.
