“How many people here know someone without health coverage?” Bill Clinton asked.
A majority of people in the crowd raised their hands.
Clinton said that the cost of health care can not be controlled unless everyone in America is covered with health insurance because insurance companies find ways to turn people down.
He cited a fact that 30 cents of every dollar in health insurance goes toward paperwork, which he claimed would pay for health care for every American.
He said that the goal is to offer everyone in America the same coverage offered to federal employees and that no one could be turned down, which would save money.
Bill Clinton said healthcare is were Hillary Clinton differs from Barack Obama most.
“That’s the main difference between the two candidates remaining now,” Clinton said.
