Student at the mic

East High Senior Marina Bovkun, who recently completed her freshman year at Gannon University while still at East, just took the stage.

“Having you here is a great honor, not only for me, but for all the students in Erie and people of Pennsylvania,” she said.

“I am also a proud supporter of Sen. Hillary Clinton and her historic quest for the White House.”

Bovkun comments focus on the 1990’s -- when her family of ten came to America from Russia – and Hillary Clinton’s education program, saying that her program will help her be the first generation in her family to attend college.
