The big day arrives

OK, this is the big day in Ohio and Texas.

Yeah, I know, Vermont and Rhode Island are holding their primaries today, too. But they had the misfortune of scheduling theirs on the same day as the Big Two.

Hillary Rodham Clinton insists she’ll stay in the race after today, regardless of what happens in Ohio and Texas. That might be good for competition, including for the Pennsylvania primary on April 22, but she would be under a lot of pressure from the party to bow out if Barack Obama sweeps today.

But that’s getting ahead of things. Let’s see how things shape up today. My guess is that Clinton wins Ohio and Obama wins Texas.

Check back here for frequent updates throughout the day.
