Clinton connects to Pennsylanian, blue collar roots in talk on college

Clinton just told a story about her grandfather, who worked a blue collar job his entire life in Scranton, Pa., but worked to make sure his children had a better life than he did by putting an emphasis on education.

She tied that into college education in general, saying that every American has the right to a post-secondary education.

She said she would rein in the student loan companies and try to regulate their interest rates and create a modern G.I. Bill for soldiers returning to Iraq.

She said she would want to renew a program where students can borrow money directly from the government at a low interest rate, similar to one she said put her through law school.
