Sinnott and DiVecchio introduce Clinton

About 1,500 people wait for Hillary Clinton to arrive at Mercyhurst Athletic Center. CHRISTOPHER MILLETTE/Erie Times-News

Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott and Erie County Executive Mark DiVecchio followed the Mercyhurst student presidents as the next two to take the stage.

Both local politicians have both given Hillary Clinton their endorsements, and local superdelegate Ian Murray has pledged his support to Clinton, making the Erie area, at least among Democratic official, fairly pro-Clinton.

So is the crowd, which punctuated DiVecchio's speech with screams of approval.

The crowd, for the record, still hasn't taken up the entire floor space, but they appear to still be walking in.
