Bill Clinton speaks

Like Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton the night before, former President Clinton came right out of the gate in support of Sen. Barack Obama.

But before he could start, the crowd in the Pepsi Center in Denver gave him a long, flag-waving standing ovation. Clinton had to tell the crowd to "sit down'' and "please stop.''

Clinton enjoyed the moment, but said the Democrats had important work to do.

"I'm here first to support Barack Obama. And second, I'm here to warm up the crowd for Joe Biden,'' Clinton said.

Biden, of course, is Obama's running mate.

Clinton told the crowd that they will soon see that Biden doesn't need any help from him.
