McCain campaign's reaction to Rendell's VP talk

You might have read about Gov. Ed Rendell telling the Pennsylvania delegation at the Democratic National Convention that Sen. John McCain won't pick former Gov. Tom Ridge as his running mate.

That, of course, is still to be determined.

Paul Lindsay, McCain's regional spokesman, said he could not comment on the VP selection.

But Lindsay did add this line in an e-mail to me: "This is a decision that will be made by John McCain, and he certainly has not shared his plans with Governor Rendell."
