Still no word yet on Sen. Barack Obama's running mate.
Seeing a lot of speculation lately turn to U.S. Rep. Chet Edwards of Texas. Edwards told CNN that the campaign has vetted him for the VP spot.
Michael Federici, political science professor at Mercyhurst College, said both Obama and Sen. John McCain have a lot to gain by delaying their announcements.
The anticipation makes voters pay more attention and gives them more news coverage, he said.
Obama is expected to make public his decision no later than Saturday, while McCain is expected to reveal his choice late next week.
