Mercyhurst students participate in poll

Mercyhurst College students are participating in an online poll, called Youth Vote '08, conducted by CBS News, the Chronicle of Higher Education, and UWire, a provider of student-generated media.

Thursday is the last day for the presidential election survey, which started Oct. 6. All Mercyhurst full-time undergraduate students can take the online poll, the college said in a news release.

The partners in the poll targeted about 15 schools in Pennsylvania to gauge students' opinions on the candidates, the issues that matter to them, their involvement in the campaigns, and "their take on the political landscape in the Internet age,'' the college said.

The poll is also being conducted in three other battleground states -- Ohio, North Carolina and Colorado.

The groups will report the results Oct. 27.
