Rally for the GOP presidential ticket

The rain held off just long enough for this morning's rally at West Perry Square on behalf of Sen. John McCain and his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

McCain and Palin weren't there, but they were well represented.

Stumping for the Republican ticket were former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge; former Pittsburgh Steelers star Lynn Swann, who ran for governor in 2006; U.S. Rep. Phil English of Erie, R-3rd Dist.; and Jerry Coffee, a Hawaii resident who was a fellow prisoner of war in Hanoi with McCain.

Check out GoErie.com for my report and read Thursday's Erie Times-News for more coverage.
