Jeff Dunham and friends headed to Erie

Looks like fast-rising comedian Jeff Dunham is headed to Erie.

Pollstar lists an April 24 date at Tullio Arena for the quick-witted comedian, who's doing the unthinkable -- making ventriloquism cool again. With friends Peanut, Walter, Melvin, Achmed, and Jose Jalapeno, he's become a regular guest on "The Tonight Show" and a favorite on Comedy Central, where his specials earn huge ratings.

We have no on-sale date yet for tickets, but stay tuned for details.

For those of you who misplaced Showcase -- how COULD you? -- below are the New Year's Eve listings that we compiled for Around Town. Don't stay at home and watch Dick Clark; that pretty much means you've given up on life.
