Police return; Clarks to Sherlocks

Billboard reports the Police will return to the U.S.A. for one last swing then break up forever -- no new CD, no concerts, nothing.
The good news: Two area shows will take place: May 3 (a Saturday) at Buffalo's HSBC Arena, and July 28 (a Monday) at Post-Gazette Pavilion near Burgettstown.
Elvis Costello & the Imposters will open both shows.
Tickets will go on sale Feb. 23 at 9 a.m. at tickets.com and Tops. Prices are $51.50, $91.50, and $201.50.
TIckes for the Post-Gazette show are $200 for gold circle, $90 reserved, and $40 lawn. They go on sale Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster.

Pollstar -- and the Clarks' web site -- both list a March 21 show at Sherlock's in Erie. Always cool to see them swing back through.

A new mega music festival will debut July 3-6 in Rothbury, Mich. That's just north of Muskegon, on the shores of Lake Michigan.
Rothbury will feature Dave Matthews Band, WIdespread Panic, John Mayer, 311, Phil Lesh and Friends, Primus, Thievery Corporation, Modest Mouse, Snoop Dogg, Gov't Mule, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Slightly Stoopid, STS9, Colbie Callat, Black Keys, Yonder Mountain String Band with Jon Fishman, Gogol Bordello, Citizen Cope, Keller Williams and the WMD's, Disco Biscuits, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Ray LaMontagne, Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi, Railroad Earth, Jakob Dylan, Beth Orton, Secret Machines, Zappa Plays Zappa, Taj Mahal, Mike Gordon, Gomez, of Montreal, Drive-By Truckers, and more.

Rothbury bills itself as "a four day, environmentally sustainable music and camping festival" witih trails, forests, fields, lakes, beach front, on-site lodging, bars, and eateries.

Early-bird tickets will go on sale Feb. 27 at noon (EDT) at www.rothburyfestival.com and by phone at 1-888-512-SHOW. Weekend pass is $244.75; the VIP pass with amenities is $475.
