Chautauqua Institution announced on Thursday two more shows for its summer 2008 season.
The Golden Years of Rock anniversary tour with Ben E. King, Shirley Alston Reeves, and the Chiffons will appear on Aug. 1. And comedian/legend Bill Cosby will close the season with two shows on Aug. 23.
They join previously announced performers Switchfoot (June 27); Vince Gill (Aug.22), and Jim Brickman (Aug. 21). Peter, Paul & Mary were also previously announced but that show will not happen.
Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige will co-headline a blockbuster 25-city tour this spring and early summer. Just 10 cities have been announced so far, with the nearest show in Toronto on April 2.
Martin Scorsese's concert film on the Rolling Stones -- titled "Shine a Light" -- debuted yesterday at the Berlin Film Festival. Variety gave it a glowing review. It won't be released in the U.S. until April. Scorsese also told the German press that he plans a documentary film on George Harrison.
