If you haven't seen the Rolling Stones' concert film "Shine a Light" yet, make sure you get to the Plaza Cinemas and catch it.
It's fantasic, unlike any concert film you've ever seen. Director Martin Scorsese hired a staggering team of cinematographers and cameramen, giving you an experience that makes you feel like part of the show, if not on stage most the time.
You see the knowing glances and exchanges between musicians, you see every crevice in Mick Jagger's face, and you hear every guitar solo because each one is cranked up in the mix.
The concert was filmed at New York's Beacon Theatre, and the intimate feel adds to the energy of the film. Scorsese's flowing direction also ups the ante: The film is wildly exciting to experience -- especially if you don't know the set list going in. The Stones pull out a few surprises, and the guests -- especially Buddy Guy -- really add to the night.
This was so good, I'm going again.
