Nobody buys CDs anymore but that won't stop a ton of artists from unleashing their latest masterpieces between now and Christmas.
One of those artists won't be U2, however. They've pushed their latest back into 2009. Still, after checking Amazon, a recent New York Times, and wire-service stories, I've assembled a list of notable releases coming soon.

Elbow's "Seldom Scene Kid" won England's prestigious Mercury Prize on Tuesday, beating out CDs by Radiohead, Burial, Adele, British Sea Power, and Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, among others.
Kennedy Center Honors for 2008 recipients include the Who, Barbra Streisand, George Jones, Twyla Tharp, and Morgan Freeman. Should be interesting when Streisand accepts at an event the President and First Lady always host. She's a vocal supporter of Barack Obama, and will perform at a snazzy fund-raiser for him soon.
The event airs on Dec. 7 on CBS, well after the election.
