Good news for Queen fans. The band -- and vocalist Paul Rodgers --filmed a live concert in the Ukraine before 350,000 fans on Sept. 12 as the kickoff to their upcoming world tour. "Queen plus Paul Rodgers: Let the Cosmos Rocks" will be shown in select movie theaters on Nov. 6 -- including Erie's Tinseltown.
The concert includes many of Queen's greatest hits, plus songs from their forthcoming studio CD, "The Cosmos Rocks," which will be released Oct. 28. It's the first new Queen studio CD in nearly 15 years.
Erie's Eastave. will perform at the Community Access Television station on Oct. 19. It's the kick off for a new show featuring area bands -- sort of a homegrown version of "Austin City Limits."
The band needs fans to attend -- but only about 50 or 60. The show will start around 6:15 or 6:30 p.m. They'll play a one-hour set, followed by a reception at Urraro Gallery. Look for more details in Showcase.
Reprise Records has set a Nov. 25 release for Neil Young's "Sugar Mountain Live at Canterbury House 1968." Young recorded the show just after leaving Buffalo Springfield, and it features new material and songs that'd appear on later albums. It also features Neil talking quite a bit, including about a day job he once had at a Toronto bookstore.
This release precedes the long-awaited "Neil Young Archives Vol. 1 (1963-72), the mammoth 10-disc Blu-ray and DVD package that'll be relased in early 2009.
