Erie Idol will kick off Friday at Millcreek Mall but with a new format. This time, you have just four casting calls where you can qualify. After that, weekly competitions take place. See Friday's Weekender for the complete lowdown.

Looks like that Faces' reunion tour may be off. Billboard reports that Rod Stewart's spokesperson says there are no plans for a tour this year. That follows a New York Post report that band members didn't get along that great when they met for initial rehearsal sessions late last year.
Rod doesn't exactly need the dough, so he could probably care less. Still, it would have been fun to hear those songs cranked up live, one more time.

Fall Out Boy, Metro Station, All Time Low, and Cobra Starship will team up at the Time Warner Cable Amphitheater at Tower City in Cleveland on May 12. FOB lists that date on its web site with a Jan. 31 on sale. No official word has come yet from Live Nation.

Look for George Strait and Blake Shelton at Post-Gazette Pavilion near Pittsburgh on July 25. Strait lists that as the final date of his tour, though it's not posted yet on livenation.com.
