In rock news we weren't actually anxious for, Limp Bizkit has announced it's reuniting for a new album and tour. Yes, Wes Borland is back in the fold.
"We decided we were more disgusted and bored with the state of heavy popular music than we were with each other. Regardless of where our separate paths have taken us, we recognize there is a powerful and unique energy with this particular group of people we have not found anywhere else. This is why Limp Bizkit is back," said Borland and Fred Durst in a joint press release.
Rolling Stone has a sneak preview of the upcoming Green Day album, "21st Century Breakdown." They preview six tracks, suggesting this one is like "American Idiot" in some respects: political pop-punk with several songs functioning as mini-suites. Comparisons to the beloved, multi-platinum "American Idiot" will be impossible to avoid, which they must know. Which means it's probably damn good.
Rolling Stone says Green Day will kick off an indoor arena tour in July. Rumors are already flying that the reunited Blink 182 will open some of those dates.
Tragically Hip sends word it will release its next CD, "We Are the Same" on April 7. Fans can hear first single "Morning Moon" on the band's web site and MySpace page. Bob Rock produced it.
"It contains twelve new tracks that range from levity and light to melancholy and anger. We think it has a little bit for everyone and showcases the great range of the band," the Hip said in an email release about the CD. Yes, they will tour, so let's hope they revisit the Warner Theatre.
Martina McBride will release her 10th album, "Shine," on March 24.
