No Doubt announces summer tour dates

No Doubt on Wednesday released the tour dates for its upcoming tour -- its first in five years -- with special guest Paramore. The good news: You have your choice locally on where to see them.
The tour will hit Post-Gazette Pavilion near Pittsburgh on June 13; Blossom Music Center near Cleveland on June 29; and Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in Darien Center, N.Y. on June 19.

Tickets will go on sale March 7 at livenation.com. For info on the pre-sale, available now through Sunday, visit nodoubttourclub.musictoday.com.

Motley Crue arrives in Erie on March 7 but if that's not enough Crue, they will launch a second Cruefest this summer. The band announced the tour stops today: July 21 at Blossom; Aug. 16 at Post-Gazette Pavilion; and the final show on Sept. 5 at Darien Lake.
The Crue plans to announce the other acts for the tour live on FUSE on March 16.
The pre-sale starts Monday. See www.cruefest2.com for details.

Attention O.A.R. fans: The band lists a May 2 show at State University of New York at Fredonia in nearby Fredonia, N.Y.
It's an outdoor show, free for students, who can bring up to 3 guests at $5 each. So, you'll need to know a SUNY-Fredonia student to get a ticket.

Chautauqua Institution has added Abba, the Tour, an Abba tribute from Sweden, to its summer lineup for July 17.

Tonight (Wed., Feb. 25) features Round Two of Sherlock's Battle of the Bands with the DT'z, Argent Heart, and Otis.
The Assmen won opening week.
As you probably have realized, Showcase deadlines are too early to put results in the next day. Intsead, I post that here, on the blog. So, look for tonight's winner to be posted tomorrow.
For the Showcase print edition, however, we do plan to run a semifinals' preview on March 19. We can pull that off because the contest takes a one-week break due to St. Patrick's Day. So, we'll profile the 4 semifinalists, who will compete on March 25 and April 1.
The finals are set for April 8.

Billboard and other music sites disclosed Wednesday that Barenaked Ladies' singer Steven Page has left the group to go solo.
