Erie notes: The SeaWolves wrapped up a six-game homestand Wednesday with an 11-10 win over Bowie. Erie lost four of six games. … Left-hander Lucas French and right-hander Andrew Kown are looking to rebound from rocky starts on the homestand. French gave up 10 earned runs and 15 hits in four innings in Friday’s 18-13 loss to the Binghamton Mets. The next day, Kown gave up six runs on six hits in the first inning and 10 runs and 12 hits overall in Erie’s 11-10 loss to the B-Mets. … Lefty Dan Christensen has given the club two decent outings, but has surrendered two homers in each game, accounting for all seven runs he’s allowed. … Right-hander Josh Rainwater, a reliever, has made two consecutive spot starts, and will likely remain in the rotation as long as left-hander Jon Connolly remains with Triple-A Toledo. Connolly was promoted to the Mud Hens on Monday and made a spot start Tuesday. … The SeaWolves are 5-2 on the road, sweeping a season-opening four-game series at Bowie April 4-6 and losing two of three games at Harrisburg April 7-9

Altoona notes: The Curve opens a seven-game homestand and a four-game series against the SeaWolves. … Altoona plays 20 of its first 30 games at home. … Altoona won its first series of the season Wednesday with its 8-7 win at Trenton in the rubber game of a three-game series. The Curve lost their first three series, losing three of four to Reading, two of three to Trenton and two of three to Reading. … Altoona has scored three runs or fewer in nine of their first 13 games. … Six Altoona players are ranked by Baseball America among the Pittsburgh Pirates’ top 30 minor league prospects: second baseman Shelby Ford (6), outfielder Brad Corley (10), right-hander Jimmy Barthmaier (17), left-hander Dave Davidson (23), right-hander Yoslan Herrera (25) and first baseman Jason Delaney (29). … Barthmaier, a member of the Pirates’ 40-man roster, was claimed off waivers from the Houston Astros in November. … Delaney has hit safely in 10 of 13 games and is batting .364 (16-for-44). … Entering Wednesday’s game against Trenton, Altoona was the league’s top fielding team with a .989 fielding percentage (five errors in 452 total chances). … Former SeaWolves pitchers Brian Rogers and Corey Hamman are with Altoona. Rogers was traded to the Pirates in July 2006 for first baseman Sean Casey. … Altoona is the league’s only team that has produced six straight winning seasons. … Altoona has won at least 70 games in each of the past six seasons. Altoona finished third in the EL South Division last season with a 73-68 record.
