Eastern League notebook

News and notes from around the Eastern League.

Last week's Eastern League schedule featured several major leaguers making rehabilitation assignments.
Cleveland Indians closer Joe Borowski and starting right-hander Jake Westbrook had rehab outings with the Akron Aeros. Borowski, who recorded an American League-best 45 saves last season, pitched one scoreless inning in his lone appearance with Akron last week.
Westbrook started Friday's game against the Erie SeaWolves at Canal Park and threw six scoreless innings in a 4-0 Akron win.
Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Jack Wilson joined Altoona for a three-game series in Akron last week and remained with the Curve for a four-game series against Trenton. He hit .316 in seven games.

Trenton outfielder Austin Jackson had a grand slam, three-run triple and seven RBIs in a 15-5 win over the Reading Phillies.

Binghamton Mets first baseman/outfielder Nick Evans, 22, made his major league debut with the New York Mets on Saturday and went 3-for-4 with three doubles and two RBIs against Colorado at Coors Field. He started in left field for the Mets, who purchased his contract on Friday. At the time of his promotion, Evans was hitting .292 with eight homers and 31 RBIs in 45 games.

Harrisburg manager John Stearns coached third base for the Washington Nationals on Friday in the Nationals' 5-1 win over Milwaukee.

After 44 consecutive days in first place in the Southern Division, Harrisburg dropped into second place behind the Bowie Baysox on Saturday.

Bowie recorded a franchise-record 15-game home winning streak from April 29 through May 25. Bowie's last home loss was April 20 against the Akron Aeros.

Trenton right-hander Alfredo Aceves threw a nine-inning complete game in a 1-0 win over Altoona on Sunday.
