-- Erie notes: By losing three of four games to Bowie this week, the SeaWolves lost their seventh straight series and are now 3-11 in series this season. … The SeaWolves are 3-18 in May. … Erie is 6-15 at home. … The SeaWolves lost two of three games at Akron on April 29-May 1 in their first and only series meeting with the Aeros. After winning the opener 7-4, Erie lost the last two games, 8-4 and 6-2. Erie is scheduled to play Akron 23 times this season, the most games against an opponent. … Erie’s record against Southern Division opponents is 15-21. … SeaWolves left fielder Wilkin Ramirez sat out Thursday’s 11-4 home loss to Bowie for precautionary reasons. In Wednesday’s 9-2 win over Bowie, Ramirez was struck on his left shoulder by a pitch, which then glanced off of his left jaw. … Left-hander Jon Connolly has lost his past three starts since he rejoined the SeaWolves May 5 from Triple-A Toledo. … French suffered the loss in Wednesday’s 10-5 loss to Bowie. He gave up six runs after two out in the first inning, then regrouped and retired 19 of the next 21 hitters. French on Thursday ranked second in the league in innings (56 1/3) behind Trenton’s Chase Wright (56 2/3). … The SeaWolves are 11-14 on the road.
-- Akron notes: Cleveland Indians starter Jake Westbrook will make a rehab start tonight for the Aeros. Westbrook is expected to rejoin the Indians’ rotation after tonight’s start. Westbrook, who has been bothered by a left intercostal strain, pitched 3 2/3 innings on Sunday in a rehab start for Single-A Lake County. He’s been on the Indians’ disabled list since April 20. Westbrook made a rehab start in Akron last season. … The Aeros have won four straight and eight of their last 11. … The Aeros are 15-8 at home. … Left-hander David Huff (4-1) was named the Eastern League pitcher of the week Monday. Huff threw a complete-game three-hitter last week against the Altoona Curve in the opening game of a doubleheader. He followed that up with seven innings of one-run ball in Wednesday’s 4-1 win over Altoona. Huff struck out six, walked one and allowed four hits. On Thursday, Huff ranked first in the league in ERA (2.03), third in strikeouts (49) and fourth in innings (53 1/3). Baseball America ranked Huff No. 8 among the Cleveland Indians’ top-30 list of minor league prospects. Huff pitched at UCLA and was the Indians’ 39th overall pick in the June 2006 draft. He was 4-2 with a 2.72 ERA in 11 starts at Single-A Kinston and was selected to the Carolina League All-Star team last season. … Outfielder Trevor Crowe came off of the club’s disabled list last week after spending five weeks sidelined with back tightness.
