Erie went 4-3 on the homestand, losing three of four to the Curve after sweeping a three-game series from Reading. … Erie is fifth in the Eastern League Southern Division standings, 11 games behind first-place Harrisburg. The SeaWolves have just a half-game lead over last-place Reading. … Erie and Portland meet for the first time this season. They play just six games against each other, including a three-game series at Jerry Uht Park June 10-12. … Erie is 2-8 against Northern Division teams, having lost four of six games against Binghamton and a four-game home series against the Northern Division-leading Trenton Thunder. … Erie is 13-16 on the road. … The SeaWolves are 21-26 against Southern Division opponents. … Left-hander Lucas French has thrown a league-high 70 1/3 innings in 11 appearances, including 10 starts. … Left fielder Wilkin Ramirez on Monday ranked fourth in the league in hits (66) and fifth in slugging percentage (.528). … Erie continues its road trip with a three-game series at New Hampshire Friday through Sunday.

n Portland notes: The Sea Dogs, who are in second place in the Northern Division, had won seven of their last 10 games heading into Monday night’s game at New Hampshire. … They open a six-game homestand today. … Portland collected 20 or more hits in three games in the past week and had a league-high.274 team batting average on Monday. … The Sea Dogs established a franchise record for the longest nine-inning game (4 hours, 9 minutes) in Friday’s 15-10 win at New Hampshire. … Portland also tied a franchise record with 21 hits in that game. …Outfielder Zach Daeges on Monday was second in the league with a .349 average and ranked second in all of minor league baseball with a . 488 on-base percentage. In a Sunday win over New Hampshire, Daeges extended his on-base streak to 31, the longest streak in the league this season. … Daeges had a monster season with the California League Single-A Lancaster JetHawks in 2007, hitting .330 with 21 homers and 113 RBIs. Daeges led the California League in runs scored (124), RBIs, hits (170), extra-base hits (81), doubles (55), walks (82) and total bases (298), and was third in the league in average, slugging percentage (.579) and on-base percentage (.423). … Right-hander Michael Bowden’s 2.20 ERA ranks second and his 58 strikeouts fifth in the Eastern League.
