-- Portland notes: Portland won two of three games from the SeaWolves last week at Hadlock Field in Portland in the first series between the teams. … This series concludes the six-game season series between the teams. … Portland, which was off Monday, has lost three straight games and six of its past 10. … The Sea Dogs were swept at home by Akron this past weekend in a three-game series. It was the first time Portland was swept at home this season. Portland blew a 10-0 lead and lost 11-10 to the Aeros on Saturday. … The Sea Dogs are in second place in the North Division, five games behind first-place Trenton. … Outfielder Zach Daeges is tied for seventh in the league with a .325 batting average and ranks third in on-base percentage (.449). Daeges was selected the Eastern League player of the month for May after hitting .414 (36-for-87) with one homer, 14 RBIs, 17 runs scored, 11 doubles, one triple and 29 walks in 26 games. Daeges spent nearly three weeks on the disabled list earlier this season due to an injury and rejoined Portland on May 3. He had a 32-game on-base streak end in early June. The Red Sox selected him in the sixth round of the 2006 draft out of Creighton. … Portland leads the league with a .275 team batting average. … The Sea Dogs are 17-12 on the road.

-- Erie notes: The SeaWolves were off Monday after going 3-3 on a six-game road trip that concluded Sunday in New Hampshire. … Erie enters this series in fifth place in the Eastern League Southern Division, 11 ½ games behind the first-place Bowie Baysox. … Left-hander Danny Christensen has three straight wins, his most recent coming in a rain-shortened, 5-0 win at Portland on Wednesday. In that game, Christensen allowed just two hits, struck out three and walked two over five innings. … The SeaWolves have seen their roster revamped in the past week, mainly due to several promotions. First baseman Ryan Roberson, left fielder Wilkin Ramirez and utility player Max Leon all were promoted to Triple-A Toledo in the past week. Left-handed starter Jon Connolly was released and right-hander Ben Fritz rejoined the rotation after missing a couple weeks while he was on the disabled list recovering from a sore throwing shoulder. … Ramirez is 2-for-12 in three games with Toledo, while Leon has collected one hit in nine at-bats in three games. … Outfielder Casper Wells and infielder Joe Tucker were promoted to the SeaWolves late last week from low Single-A West Michigan. Wells played in all three games at New Hampshire and went 3-for-12 with a homer and a run scored. Tucker played in two games over the weekend and was 1-for-3 with one RBI. … Catcher Dusty Ryan played two games at first base in the New Hampshire series. … The SeaWolves are 10-18 at home. Erie and Reading (10-14) are tied for the fewest home wins in the league. … The SeaWolves rank ninth in league attendance, having drawn 74,586 fans in 27 home dates, an average of 2,762 per date.
