Lakeland players contribute to All-Star Game win

Five Lakeland players recently contributed to a 9-3 win for the West Division over the East Division in the annual Single-A Florida State League All-Star game at Space Coast Stadium in Viera, Fla.
Right-hander Rick Porcello, the Detroit Tigers’ No. 1 draft pick in 2007, started and picked up the win with one inning of work. He allowed one run and two hits.
The Flying Tigers also were represented by pitcher Matt O’Brien, catcher Jeff Kunkel, first baseman Ryan Strieby and shortstop Cale Iorg.
Iorg played the entire game and went 1-for-5, including a homer to left in the ninth inning. Kunkel was promoted to the SeaWolvves Wednesday night after Erie's 7-0 loss at Trenton.
