Super thoughts

All the hype is over and one team will win Sunday ... the Patriots.

How do I know? Just look at the fantasy statistics.

Better quarterback. Better receivers (sorry, Plaxico). Better running back. Better defense.

So here's what should happen Super Sunday. The Patriots will win 56-21. Tom Brady throws five TD passes, Rodney Harrison returns an interception for a TD, Kevin Faulk runs for a touchdown and Laurence Maroney scores, too.

The Patriots were a dream to own in just about any fantasy league format this season. If you're in a keeper league, say your prayers that Randy Moss (who will catch a TD pass Sunday as well) signs with the Pats.

Also, if you're going to fill in a square during a Super Bowl party, pick six across, three down. It's good luck.

Less than two weeks for pitchers and catchers

I heard a commercial on the radio the other day counting down the days until Spring Training begins.

To get ready for your fantasy baseball leagues, try an online mock draft. Here's a link to one http://www.mockdraftcentral.com/index.jsp.

And, if you're drafting, make sure you take Johan Santana real early. He's going to be dynamite in New York.

Questions, questions

Everyone has questions this time of year.

Should I make a trade? Which player do I keep?

It never ends.

Just remember, have fun with it.

Also, when you're whittling down your roster for that final keeper, keep in mind your league's scoring system.

I've been in regular roto leagues, head-to-head and points leagues and it makes a difference.

Last season, one of my final keepers in one league was Todd Helton. It wasn't a sexy pick, but I decided on him because of the stats he provides in multiple categories.

I wasn't expecting 30 home runs from him. I was expecting 20 HRs, 80 RBIs, plus plenty of walks, runs and a good average.

Helton delivered.

The Kaz will miss two weeks

Scott Kazmir had some good stuff last year and was tabbed by many as a pitcher to watch this year.

Unfortunately, you should watch out for his throwing arm for a different reason. He will miss two weeks after feeling discomfort in his arm.

I'd drop him down a bit on my draft board until he can prove he's healthy.
