Questions? I've got answers

Baseball rosters are being trimmed in Florida and Arizona every day. Fantasy leaguers in keeper leagues need to do the same.

Undecided about that final keeper? Not sure if a trade is right for you?

Reply to this post with your question and I'll answer them.

Last call for fantasy challenge entries

Time's almost up to be considered for the Erie Times-News Fantasy Baseball Challenge.

Send me an e-mail telling me why you should be chosen for the league.

Baseball season begins at 6 a.m.

Best fantasy Web sites

Bill Bradley of the Sacramento Bee reviewed fantasy sports Web sites. His take on some of the biggest:

Yahoo! Sports (sports.yahoo.com/fantasy): Probably the best roto home for novice players or those who want low-maintenance leagues.

CBS Sports (sportsline.com/fantasy) This site is probably the best for managing large leagues or leagues that have lasted many years (I'm in a 23-year-old league that has used this site for eight years).

ESPN (games.espn.go.com) If you go to ESPN.com for your sports news, then this is good for one-stop shopping.

My take on the sites:
I'm real disappointed with Yahoo sports. The player lists aren't as extensive as CBS Sports' or ESPN's. Yahoo's live scoring (if you pay extra for it) isn't as good as the others.

I've used all three and I'm currently in leagues using all three. My favorite, however, is ESPN. Since ESPN went free, I've been hooked. The custom features for baseball might be a bit limited compared to CBS, but ... it's free.

Wood a closer. Longoria a minor leaguer

The Cubs have named Kerry Wood their closer. I'm still skeptical he'll last the season, so keep an eye on Carlos Marmol and Bob Howry.

The Rays -- don't call them Devil Rays this year -- have sent down 3B prospect Evan Longoria. This move was made more with money in mind, as this would set back Longoria's arbitration clock. Look for him by June.

2 things to check out

I wish mlb.com paid me for the little publicity I'm about to give them, but I thought I'd pass this along.

First, they've upgraded their gameday live scoring feature. There are plenty of bells and whistles on that thing, and it beats what espn and sportsline had last year. You can check out mlb.com's improvements here.

Also, mlb.com is offering a free look at mlb.tv Saturday. I haven't subscribed, but I have seen it in action. It's a good way to watch games. Just check out the blackout restrictions before you decide to make the investment.

Liriano to start season in Class A

From the Associated Press: Twins pitcher Francisco Liriano will start the season with the Class A Fort Myers Miracle. The left-hander is coming back from elbow surgery and was 2-2 with a 4.02 ERA in spring training. He missed the 2007 season recovering.

Don't jump off a cliff just yet. Liriano will be back up in the bigs soon. If you have a nervous owner in one of your leagues, try to get him.
