BayHawks first-round pick Erik Daniels is still working himself into shape. In a conditioning drills to end the morning practice session on Sunday, he trailed most of the other guys, but Daniels pushed through the drill and finished it.
He also showed flashes of the type of player the BayHawks hope he'll be. He finished more shots around the basket and showed an ability to find the open man from the perimeter.
The thing I haven't seen is him post up much. Now can he do it? Sure, but he's more of a perimeter big man instead of one who goes down in the low box.
I'm still wondering if he's going to be a low-post threat or not. He likes to shoot the jumper and often does so fading away from the basket.
So it's going to be interesting to see what happens if Brian Robinson is cleared to practice today after the doctors found an abnormality with his heart the day before training camp began. At 6-feet, 8-inches tall, he weighs more (235 pounds) than the other big men and if he shows a low-post game, his value may rise.
