I've got plenty to blog about and not much time left to blog today. So, forgive the throw-up nature of this post:
* Thanksgiving: The Turkey Trot rocked. The rest of the day was, well ... several hours of my life I'll never get back. And, I'm leaving it there.
* I set a P.R. (personal record for those of you not versed in running jargo) on Black Friday. I shopped for 12 hours straight and I crossed 20+ people off my shopping list. And, I got some great deals, too. We didn't do the 5 a.m. thing, but I still got most of the bargain items I was looking for because the lines at Target were outrageous and people were dumping merchandise all over the store. I scavenged a whole cart full of great gifts just by wandering around the areas near the registers. The best part? By the time we were done shopping at the store at 10 a.m., there were no lines. I guess the early bird doesn't always get the worm, eh?
* Took the girls to see the Bee Movie on Saturday. It was cute...kept the girls entranced. I give it two thumbs up. And, yeah...I sprung for the expensive theater (but it was a matinee, of course).
* When I got the Sunday paper I noticed a few items at Target that I really wanted, but...alas...the husband has run off to hunting camp and I can't really shop for the kids with the kids, so I decided to see if I could get the items on line. I could. I did. The shipping was free. And, it will be delivered to my house (saving my $3.17-a-gallon gasoline). Since I scored big at Target, I headed over to Amazon where I proceeded to knock a few more people off my Christmas shopping list -- all before I showered or got out of my jammies. Sweet.
* Discovered that Wild Birds Unlimited in Village West is open on Sundays now (gotta love holiday shopping hours). They have some of the coolest gifts there. I even found a gift for my father-in-law, who is an avid hiker, there.
* Her Times Handy girl columnist, Gennifer Biggs and I met up at Claytopia last night for a Tomboy Tools class. We had a blast trying out all the tools and even bought a few for ourselves. I bought the neatest hammer, it holds the nail for you! (And, the nice thing is...it's pink, so my husband won't be running off with it all the time like he does the one in our little household toolbox now). At the class, we we worked on a mosaic tile flowerpot (using Tomboy Tools). Gen is write about mosaic tiling for our February issue of Her Times -- theme "Everything Old is New Again." Here's our pot:
