If you're in your 30s...

surely you owned one of these -- one of the very first hand-held games.

I know I spent many an hour in the back of the family wood-paneled, light blue station wagon playing this thing while I slid around the vinyl seats (because no one wore seatbelts back then), inhaling my dad's cigar smoke (which was preferable to smelling his farts -- what is it with Dads and farting in closed spaces anyway?).

BUT, I digress...

I loved my Merlin. I have no idea what ever happened to it. I probably left it out in the rain and forgot all about it when my parents finally relented and bought us an Atari.

Michelle [is really random]:

Wow. And I thought that "Game Boy" was a big deal. Then there was "Game Boy COLOR" and that was like WHOA! And then they started making them with back lights so you could play in the dark - insane! I don't even know what they're on now... Gameboy Advances Sp and PSPs or something?

It's incredible how technology can go from PONG to Halo 3! :-)

Chris:

We used to have Coleco-Vision when we were kids. Those were the days of Dig-Dug and Q-bert and Burger Time. We recently bought an old style game that has a joy stick and will play a variety of Pac-Man and other old 80's games by simply plugging it into my VCR. I never could get into the Playstations and the X-box. Too complicated. Just give me a start button and one hand control stick and I'm occupied for hours.
