I didn't mean to watch NBC's Celebrity Apprentice. In fact, I made a conscious decision NOT to watch the show as I'd grown tired of the board room nastiness and drama (remember, I have this huge aversion to meanness and fighting). I know lots of people find it entertaining, I just find it painful and I can't even watch it. I just can't.
But, then, I got sucked into the show -- the way I always do -- when I leave the TV on while I run around the house doing other things and...before you know it...I'm making a point to leave the TV at that time the next week and, well...
I got interested in the Celebrity Apprentice late in the game, but I immediately liked country singer Trace Adkins. He's big, he's tough, he's honest and he's nothing if not genuine and authentic.
I was happy to see him go to the final two even thought it was against that sleazy Brit - Piers. I have no idea who this guy is or why he's a "celebrity," but, like the rest of American, I don't like him. He's sneaky and sleazy and snarky and he's a completely fake person. Unfortunately, he won -- which means the best man definitely did not win this competition, but I'm sure The Donald had his reasons (and it most likely had to do with ratings).
The funniest part of the entire show was Trace dealing with the Backstreet Boys. He was HYSTERICAL when trying to fill the requests on their "rider" -- he never did find the wheat grass juice.
Poor Trace -- a man...dealing with boys...
One of the "BSB" as Trace referred to them...forgot his nail polish. So, Trace Adkins (big, old rugged country man) and Lennox Lewis -- the 3-time Heavyweight Boxing Champion of the World had to go to the drug store & buy black nail polish. "Not for our wives," says Trace. "But, for a man!"
Another funny part -- when Trace had to go by a knee brace for one of the BSB who twisted his knee in rehearsal. He later said, "I once did a show with my stomach hurting so bad, I could hardly stand it. I did my show, I went to the E.R. and I had 8 inches of my intestines removed...THAT night. And, I gotta go get a knee brace cause one of the boys twisted his knee...don't get me started."
Here's Trace's latest video -- "You're Gonna Miss This" (warning....it will make most moms cry).
