Three things I'm loving this week:
1. Wal-Mart's new environmental conscious. Sure, it's probably just an April Earth Day gimmick to sell more expensive, organic T-shirts and patio furniture. But...give the big box some credit for stepping up to create awareness of environmental issues and encourage a little more Mother Earth love. They have some totally cute organic Earth Day T-shirts with fun sayings. The Web site only shows some of the adult T-shirts, but there are lots of cute kid's t-shirts (even infants) that have cute illustrations and say things like "Little Tree-Hugger."
2. This Asparagus steamer. Does anyone have one of these? Do you like it? I love, love, love asparagus and though I am culinary-challenged...I think that even I could manage to boil water and steam a bunch of spears.
3. Noisy birds. Is there anything more glorious than the deafening chatter of wild birds flocking back to Erie? The seem to love the locust trees in my yard. There are times they get so loud (grackles, I think) that I can hear them in the house.
Three things I'm NOT loving this week:
1. How time flies when you're working your butt off. Seems like I just got here when I look up and it's 4:30 -- hence my sparse posting and shallow entries as of late. Forgive me. April is a crazy time in the special sections department -- one section after another from the Home Show sections to Spring Car Care to Finance and American Home Week to Nurses Week (not to mention Her Times). They just keep coming and coming until mid-May.
2. Trying to come up with something to buy for a 10-year-old boy's birthday. Anyone? Anyone?
3. My sun-deprived winter-brown hair. My hair turns quite blonde in the summer thanks to the sun that highlights it quite nicely. In the winter I am stuck with dark blonde/brownish dull hair that does nothing for my complexion, unless, of course, I have my hairdresser work a little chemical sun into my hair.
