Three things - 10/30/08

Three things I'm loving this week:

1. Trick-or-treaters. ETN does this cool thing each year where all the employee's kids and grandkids get to come trick-or-treat through the building on the day before Halloween. We have an employee services committee that organizes the whole thing (yes, of course I'm on the committee...it's fun!). It's a day that employees look forward to each year because we get to see how our co-workers kids have grown and we get to ooohhh and aaahhhh at all the cute kiddos in costume.

2. Jell-o pudding.
I'm always on the lookout for healthy snacks and lunch food for the girls. Jell-o pudding delivers. It's yummy, it's fairly healthy, it's inexpensive and it doesn't require refrigeration. That said...if you're the kind who eschews artificial sweeteners, steer clear...Jell-O pudding is loaded with just about every kind of sweetener they make. Still...it's better than chips or cookies.

3. Clear air. I LOVE the smoking ban! I love being able to go to Calamari's or the Plymouth -- and even the Erie Zoo and not have to worry about sucking in someone else's bad habit. We go out to dinner more now because we know we can take the kids to eat without serving them up a side of second-hand smoke.

Three things I'm not loving this week:

1. The snow. But, thankfully...it's gone...for now.

2. My energy level. I don't know if it's the cold, the dark or the need for more protein, but ... I couldn't even stay awake for "Private Practice" last night, let alone "Lipstick Jungle." On Tuesday, I fell asleep watching "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." Basically, I'm out for the count the moment my butt hits the couch...no matter how big the pile-o-stuff-i-need-to-do (sitting on my lap) is.

Love the pudding.
Awesome stuff.
Don't love the snow tho...
Granted, it is pretty...
Merry Christmas... I mean, Happy Halloween!
