Here's the second half of my top 10 toys/gifts my kids love and continue to get the most use out of.
1. Leapfrog's Leapster. This is a hand-held gaming system for kids (probably age 4 to 8), but instead of playing mindless video games, they play "learning" games that teach them important educational concepts like ABCs, phonics and math skills. They're portable and silent if used with headphones -- so they're great for car trips or to entertain the kids while waiting for dinner at a restaurant.

2. Play-Doh. Play-Doh and Play-Doh play sets are a gift that my children have been enjoyed since they were toddlers. And, I love it, too (even after having to pick neon orange dried Play-Doh out of the new carpet in the playroom). Perhaps I'm just intoxicated by that signature Play-Doh scent, I don't know, bu there's just something so satisfying about squeezing and mooshing that dough.

3. Power Wheels Jeep. My brothers and sisters chipped in to buy this for the girls when Kelly was three, I think. That was probably too early since it sat there for a good year before she was brave enough to drive it. Now, at 5 & 7, they love it and are forever trucking all over the yard together. In the spring, I had the girls running around picking up sticks in their Power Wheels then truckin' them down to the burn pile. I wish they made one in my size.

4. Bath toys. Baths can be a struggle in my house. It's a struggle to get the girls in the tub ("no, I don't want to take a bath....we just took one SATURDAY!") and it's a struggle to get them out ("no, I don't want to get out, yet...I'm playing!") because once they get in and are playing with all their toys, they don't want to get out. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of playing in the tub with my tub toys. I'm not sure kids ever really outgrow them. Little rubber duckies and colorful cups are great tub toys for little kids and dolls that can go in the water are great for older kids.

5. Legos. There are endless hours of play found in a box of Legos. Yes, they're pricey, but...they are worth it. And, they are a gender-neutral gift as both boys and girls love them. In fact, you can even get an entire tub of pink Legos now. Check it out:

Bonus: Pajamas. My kids absolutely love PJs and always want me to buy them the fancy gowns or character jammies and ...wow...they can be pricey. You're talking $14 for something they're going to wear to bed. So, I love it when they get pajamas as a gift -- and they love them, too.
