I could get into this

I've never wanted to be a SAHM. I just don't have it in me. But, I'm finding that it's a much funner gig once the kids go to school.

I had yesterday (and today) off. Usually I'd head for the mall or go somewhere with friends, but the weather made it high desirable to stay home (as did the lack of snow tires on my car). I couldn't even go out for a run -- well, I could've, but it would've been a miserable experience.

So, I had all day and nowhere to go and it was one of the best vacation days ever.

I got the kids up, we ate breakfast together. I kissed them and sent them off to the bus.
I had my entire house cleaned -- all three floors (including mopping floors) by 10:30 a.m. I caught up on all the laundry (seriously...I can't remember the last time I saw my entire basement floor). I changed all the bedding in the house. I went grocery shopping. I baked a batch of oatmeal 'scotchies. I had dinner waiting when the kids got home. I had time to actually sit at the table and work on their homework with them.

Just call me Mrs. Cleaver.

Now, it's 9 a.m., I've got dinner in the crockpot (no, really...I do!), the kitchen cleaned up from breakfast, the whites in the dryer and I'm heading out for a long (albeit brisk) run.

I'm telling you...this SAHM thing is way more fun when the kids are at school all day.

Sigh...if only it paid better. :-)
