Three things I'm loving this week:

1. Clementines. An annual holiday gift from the citrus gods, er...California, clementines are seedless, easy to peel and oh-so sweet and delicious. I love these tiny little fruits. One is never enough. I wish they were available year-round, but...alas...they will be gone at the end of the month, so get them while the gettin's good. You can usually pick up a whole bag or little crate of them for less than $10 — they're worth every dollar.
2. Package vacation deals. We're planning to do the Cleveland marathon (well, the husband's doing the marathon, I'm doing the half) in May and are also planning to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame while there. I went to expedia.com to find a hotel and had a list of possibilities. In the meantime, I surfed over to the ROR HOF site to check out museum hours and admission cost and found some special hotel deals. I ended up getting the hotel room, two tickets to the museum and free parking at the hotel (a $20+ value) for about $20 more than I'd have paid for just the hotel room. Not bad, eh? So...the moral here is...if you're looking to travel somewhere, check the sites you plan to visit to see if they have any hotel package deals.

3. Snowflakes. I know...I know...all I do is whine about how much I hate the winter, but the individual flakes are exquisite and fascinating. Most of my gloves are black and I love catching big, fluffy flakes on my fingers and admiring their intricate makeup. Individually....I appreciate them. Collectively...not so much.
Things I'm not loving this week:
1. Gym invaders. 'tis the season for New Year's resolution makers to fill up the weight room and hog all the treadmills. While I applaud — and wholeheartedly encourage — them, it's annoying to have to share and wait around for them to get off the Compound Row machine. My 5 p.m. gym visits are over for awhile now. I'll wait until 6:30 or 7, when the after-work crowd disperses.
2. Jethro Tull. I'm a classic rock lover, but I positively cannot stand Jethro Tull. AquaLung or Aquaman (or whatever the hell it is) is one of the most annoying songs ever overplayed. Second only to Santana's "Oye Como Va." I love you Carlos, but....man...you have to be sick of that song by now, too.
3. Digital TV. This is a whole blog post in and of itself, but...let me sum it up with this. I just don't care what my television reception looks like. I don't understand how (and why) the government got involved in all this and why they are forcing people to spend money on new TVs and converter boxes and/or cable. As the years go by I have less and less use for television anyway. Honestly, I don't care if Cassa Cass goes TV-less when it all goes dark in February.
