The wheel deal

We spent a lot of time on the go this weekend. On Friday, Autumn and I drove to Jamestown, N.Y., for my niece's graduation from high school. All went well and Autumn lasted a whole hour without getting antsy. Then we spilled the Cheerios on the floor and a low battery required we plug in the video camera anyway. So we left our seats, never to return. She likes to walk and she really enjoyed walking the white line on the track that circled around behind the seats. My brother Darryl took care of the video camera, thank goodness.

We remained on the graduation kick Saturday as we attended a college graduation party in Brunswick, Ohio, for Keith's cousin. At both graduation events, she was happy to have her grandpas nearby. She loves her grandmas a ton, but something about her grandpas fascinates her. Every time we talk on the phone in our house, she thinks Papa is on the other end.

Sunday, Keith's parents, Keith, Autumn and I all went to the Cleveland Zoo. It was a long day with lots of walking as we took six hours and still didn't see everything. While we were there, I thought once again how we need to get a wagon. We took our big stroller, but to take her out of the stroller so she can see at the exhibits and then to strap her back in the stroller when she doesn't want back in the stroller is a pain. It seems by next summer a wagon will be a good thing to own.

I saw tons of Step 2 brand plastic wagons, a few red Radio Flyer plastic wagons, some red Radio Flyer wooden wagons, Little Tikes wagons and even one Radio Flyer metal wagon, which didn't look like it would be good to sit a child in, but just to carry stuff around. There's so many different kinds of wagons out there. Some have seats in side, some have little backs for the kids to lean against. At Amazon.com, I see wagons for $50 to $130, not counting that metal Radio Flyer. The plastic red Radio Flyer Pathfinder Wagon, apparently not available through the Web site right now, seems to have the best reviews.

If you have a wagon, I'd love to hear what you think of it. Would you recommend it? Would you buy it again? What do you love or hate? It's always nice to hear from real people before dropping the money.
