The things that come out of little people's mouths...

Young kids are so funny when you hear them speak. The way they say words, the words they say, when they use words to mean something entirely different than the original usage... It's all funny.

Just the other day, my little girl said "'scuse you, Dada" after Keith sneezed. She counts to 10, skipping 4 through 7. Sunday morning when I went into her room, she held up her arms and said, "cuddle." She called Winnie the Pooh either "poo poo" or "poo poo bear."

She cracks me up.

It also makes me think of my nieces and nephews and their funny sayings.
One nephew called guns "hookies" (he wasn't allowed to play with guns."
A niece called lights "li-lees."
A nephew called fish "two-ahs" because they had two fish at his house.
A nephew once asked to go to a "tool store," meaning cool store.

They all grew out of these little, cute phrases. They grew up. Someday Autumn will, too. People tell me to write down the funny things she says because before too long she'll stop saying them and I won't remember what they were anymore. So my new goal is to make a note of the cute words and phrases as they pop. I hope I never forget her little toddler-speak.

In the meantime, think back to the funny things you've heard kids say. And if you're up for sharing, I'd love to hear, too.
