Although Autumn's birthday isn't technically until Wednesday, we decided to have her party yesterday. Including Keith, Autumn and I, we had 23 people at our house, which is a lot considering it's cold outside and everyone was inside. Our house isn't infinitesimally small, but it's not incredibly spacious by any means. So when the big tables we borrowed were up for the meal, space was at a premium.
Autumn and the other kids did very well, though, and it was a happy day. As I suspected, all the work was worth it. Autumn was very happy with her Mickey cake, the Mickey chocolates I made and her Mickey balloons. We also had Minnie cake plates and napkins and Mickey napkins for dinner.
The one thing that did not go well was when we lit the candle on her cake and everyone joined us in the dining room to sing Happy Birthday. I don't know if it was the lit candle, everyone looking at her or the singing, but she started to cry.

Keith picked her up then, I blew out the candle and Autumn was perfectly happy to sit on Daddy's lap and be the first one to bite into her cake.

Overall, it was a great day and it was nice to see family and a few friends present. Autumn seemed to have a blast and she really received some nice gifts. But now I think we can hold off on Christmas until June, because Autumn has plenty of new things to entertain her until then. And after.
