Today is the day...

Our little family all took the day off today to celebrate Autumn's second birthday. It's so hard to believe that two years ago at this time I was still having contractions and yet right now if I ask her how old she is, she'll proudly answer "2."

She's so grown up now. This morning she has rode around the house in a little tricycle. She's pushed a little stroller and held a stuffed Mickey. Right now she's sitting next to Daddy as he reads books to her.

She was born at 9:32 a.m., so as I write this I'm about a half hour away from the exact time of her birth. When I think of the moment she arrived and they placed her on my stomach, it's amazing. I remember just staring at her thinking, This is my baby. This is what she looks like. And now, I can't get over how cute she can be. I can still find myself just staring at her and wanting to hug and squeeze her. Unfortunately, she doesn't hold still for very long during the day, so our only really good cuddle time now comes when she's tired. It's a far cry from that newborn baby who felt more secure when she was held and cried when she wasn't.

If you'll excuse me now, though, somebody is tugging on my arm, handing me a book asking me to read "monkeys and thumb..."
