Cowboys at Browns: Dallas pads lead, first-half wrap

Marion Barber capped a 79-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown run right before halftime to put Dallas ahead 21-7.

A rough first half overall for the Browns could be summed up as follows:

-- Braylon Edwards dropped three passes and was called for an illegal shift penalty on one of the plays that resulted in a drop.

-- Tony Romo was close to perfect, completing 13-of-16 passes for 175 yards and a touchdown.

-- Browns second-year corner Brandon McDonald had a rough half, giving up a 35-yard touchdown pass to Terrell Owens and getting flagged for illegal use of hands to nullify a Robaire Smith sack on Dallas's final scoring drive of the half.

-- The Cowboys had plenty of success running at veteran Browns left outside linebacker Willie McGinest, repeatedly getting big yards on toss plays to Marion Barber around the right side of the offensive line. Dallas largely avoided trying to attack newly-acquired Browns nose guard Shaun Rogers.
