Chargers take the lead

The Chargers just went up 7-3 with 21 seconds left in the first quarter. Philip Rivers hit Malcolm Floyd on a 12-yard post pattern for the score. Floyd beat rookie corner Leodis McElvin and made a nice catch, going up for the ball.

The Chargers drove 78 yards, converting two third downs before the touchdown.

Ladainian Tomlinson ran five yards on third-and-1 from the Buffalo 32 to keep the drive going.

The power here remains out, which has created all manner of communication issues, along with a pair of delay of game penalties -- one against each team -- because the play clocks aren't functioning.

NFL observer Art McNally just radioed down to the field to remind the back judge to indicate to the offense when there was approximately 10 seconds left on the play clock.
