News and notes: Big money for Aaron Rodgers

Pro Football Talk is reporting that Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers signed a contract extension today that includes a $20 million bonus. Not bad for a guy eight weeks into replacing the legendary Brett Favre.

-- Good reading here from The Sporting News' Mike Florio, who lists 10 under-the-radar developments so far in the 2008 season. Checking in at No. 10 -- Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter's pursuit of an NFL record 24 sacks. Porter has 10 1/2 through seven games. Writes Florio: "It's an amazing turnaround for Porter, who was discarded in early 2007 by the Steelers and who was largely invisible during last year's 1-15 debacle."
