Turkey hunter goes south

I camera hunted last Friday norning while at the Pennsylvania Outdoor Writers conference down in Butler, PA. Another writer and I were teamed with a local who guided us. We saw or heard a total of about 12 birds, but we never set foot in the woods. They were all in fields.

I'm not used to hunting them that way, but where there are so many fields and the hunting pressure is a little less than it is up here, that seems to be where the turkeys are. They're still gobbling. If a little back problem clears up for me, I hope to get out with the camera later this week, or even after the season, and prove it's still possible to score on one.

We have five days left. Finish strong!
